The Air Quality News team are proud to announce we are hosting our inaugural South West and Wales Air Quality Conference, to be held at the Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel in Bristol on June 21st.

This event will bring together key policymakers in local authorities, as well as academia, and environmentally focused private companies, to hear from our expert speakers to see how we can tackle air quality in the regions.

Robert Llewellyn – Fully Charged – Robert Llewellyn is a British actor, presenter and writer, famous for his thirty-year stretch as the rubber-masked mechanoid Kryten in the much-loved science fiction comedy, ‘Red Dwarf’. Robert launched “Fully Charged”, a YouTube channel focussing on the future of electric vehicles, of all shapes and sizes, and clean energy. Fully Charged has exceeded 55 million views around the world and Robert was recently acknowledged as ‘Tech Legend’ at the T3 Awards.

 

Tessa Bartholomew-Good, Head of Campaigns – Clean Air – Global Action Plan – Tessa is a behaviour and system change specialist, passionate about intersection of human and planet health. Before coming to Global Action Plan, Tessa worked for Public Health England (now Dept of Health) leading the strategy, insights and evaluation for the largest health behaviour change campaigns and programmes in the UK.

 

Professor Enda Hayes, Air Quality & Carbon Management – UWE Bristol – Professor Enda Hayes has been working in the environmental field for over a decade with a primary focus on atmospheric emissions and their management including odour, bioaerosols, traditional air quality pollutants (e.g. particulate matter, nitrogen dioxide, ozone) and greenhouse gases.

 

Cllr Don Alexander – Bristol City Council – Cllr Alexander leads on delivering the Mayor of Bristol’s vision for the city’s transport network, including supporting the development of a regional plan for a mass transit system, overseeing a £1.783m investment in post-COVID-19 walking and cycling upgrades as well as supporting the decarbonising of the city’s transport systems.

 

Joseph Carter – Asthma & Lung UK – Joseph Carter is the Head of Asthma + Lung UK Cymru, the organisation supporting 1 in 5 people living with lung conditions. Their vision is for a world where everyone has healthy lungs. A world where lung health is prioritised through better understanding, research, treatment and support. They are dedicated to helping create a world where good lung health and the ability to breathe freely are a basic right enjoyed by all.

 

Dr Phillip Webb – Respiratory Innovation Wales – Dr Phillip Webb is an experienced healthcare professional with extensive knowledge in academia, industry and public sector. With over 20 years’ experience within UK National Health Service in National commissioning, specialised services, regional cancer delivery, innovation and value-based healthcare.
